If you’ve spent time walking around Asheville, you’ve probably noticed Wyatt Grant’s artwork—even if you didn’t know his name. His bold, geometric style shows up on murals, taproom walls, signs, and posters throughout the city. There’s something about it that immediately feels familiar, like a barn quilt you’ve passed on a winding mountain road or a piece of folk art handed down through generations.
That’s exactly what caught our eye.
My wife Molly and I kept seeing Wyatt’s work around town and loving it. The imagery reminded us of the traditional craft that inspires everything we do at Pisgah Banjos. When our friends over at Leveler Beer Co. told us they had commissioned Wyatt for some artwork and had a fantastic experience, we decided to reach out. Wyatt was not only open to the idea—he was genuinely excited to collaborate.
And beyond being a talented artist, Wyatt is just a great person to work with. He took the time to visit our shop, meet the crew, walk through the stacks of wood, and see our banjos in all stages of the building process. He asked thoughtful questions, listened closely, and truly wanted to understand who we are and what we stand for. That care and intention is woven into the design he created.
The result is our newest limited-edition t-shirt, Patchwork & Picking. It’s a visual celebration of Appalachian tradition, blending the language of quilts, banjo inlays, and mountain geometry into something fresh yet familiar. It feels both timeless and contemporary—much like the instruments we build.
Supporting local artists and makers is a big part of who we are. Just as we source Appalachian hardwoods and work with nearby machine shops, we’re proud to collaborate with creatives like Wyatt who share our values. Sustainability, for us, means more than using responsible materials. It means nurturing our community, lifting up fellow craftspeople, and staying rooted in the place we call home.
These shirts are printed on Comfort Colors tees—soft, durable, and made to feel like an old favorite from day one. They come in four rich colorways and are perfect for porch picking, festival hopping, or just showing a little love for Appalachian art.
This is a limited run. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
