Description
The 11″ Cherry Possum delivers the warm, woody character of our Possum model in a comfortable, compact package. Built from cherry and featuring our Persimmon tone ring, the Possum has a warm, plunky voice with just enough clarity and volume to keep every note defined.
The short-scale neck reduces the reach between frets and lowers string tension slightly, giving the banjo a relaxed, comfortable feel that’s especially well suited for clawhammer and Old-Time playing. The 11″ rim keeps the sound focused and balanced while maintaining plenty of low-end warmth.
Cherry adds another dimension to the Possum’s personality. It offers a warm, balanced tone and develops a beautiful, rich patina as the instrument ages and is played.
Like every Pisgah Banjo, it’s handmade in our shop in North Carolina using sustainably sourced native hardwoods and USA-made hardware.
