We’ll have a booth set up with a limited selection of Pisgah Banjos, and we couldn’t be more excited to hit the road and be part of this iconic event.
If you’re not familiar, Grey Fox is one of the premier bluegrass festivals in the country, known for its deep musical roots, welcoming community, and family-friendly atmosphere. Originally launched as the Winterhawk Festival back in 1984, Grey Fox has grown into a cornerstone of the American roots music scene, attracting legendary performers and new voices alike from across bluegrass, folk, and Americana traditions. It’s the kind of place where musical boundaries are a little softer, where open-back banjos are finding their way more and more into jam circles and main stages alongside the classic resonator sound.
That’s exactly why we wanted to be a part of it.
At Pisgah, we’ve always believed that open-back banjos have a place not just in old-time music, but across the entire spectrum of American roots music — bluegrass, folk, Americana, you name it. As more musicians branch out and blend traditions, the need for a high-quality, handcrafted open-back banjo that can hang with any instrument on stage has never been greater.
Grey Fox felt like the perfect opportunity to meet musicians where they are — to show them what a proper open-back banjo should sound like, feel like, and look like. Whether you’re a die-hard clawhammer player or a bluegrass picker looking for new sounds, we believe an open-back banjo built with love, tradition, and Appalachian hardwoods has a seat at the table.
